Trends in the development of science:
Models and pluralism of the development sources

The article proves the relevance of the analysis of science as a social and cultural phe-
nomenon. A definition of science is given. Reasons for the steady increase of the role of
science in the modern world are specified, the latest trends in science are highlighted.
Different models of science development are compared, including alternatives: external-
ism and internalism. The set of sources of science development is considered, the author's
position is justified and practical advices are given.
