History of the Women's Commercial School

of Commercial Education

The article analyses
women's commercial education at the turn of the XIX-XX centuries
.
It considers the activities of the Moscow Society for Dissemination of Commercial Edu-
cation and development of private philanthropy. Special attention is paid to the founda-
tion the Women's Commercial School. The paper shows main stages of its emergence and
development, provides information on the establishment of the house church. Curricula,
as well as normative documents, promoting the development of women's commercial ed-
ucation in the early twentieth century were analyzed. The article is of interest to readers
who are engaged in the history of commercial education in Russia.
