The paper considers the national security phenomenon in the context of the changing world order, globalization and deterritorialization as the global megatrends. The question arises on the possibility of deactualizing national level in the security research. Conceptual landscape of the national security concept was studied; traditional and new challenges to the state complicating the policy of ensuring national security were streamlined and analyzed. A conclusion was made that concepts, sources, methods and types of the national security policy need to be rethought making it possible to clarify conceptual understanding of the state strategic priorities in the national security.
