The paper studies the form as a method and considers its methodological assessment in the works by the French philosopher Gabriel Marcel and in the non-classical philosophy works in general. Relevance of the topic is determined both by radical upheavals in the humanity existence befalling in the XX–XXI centuries, and by the logic of the philosophical thought development itself. The problem of a person and the methodology of its solving are becoming of utmost importance in times of crisis in the society development. Two World Wars were the upheavals in the XX century, and in the XXI — current events, which some already call the Third World War. Three Socratic Turns in philosophy were considered, the process of losing a person in philosophy and obtaining him were analyzed. The author proposes to define Gabriel Marcel’s methodological approach in a broad context as the non-finito method and substantiates the intersubjectivity principle as a characteristic of the French thinker’s method. No less important to understand the Marcel’s methodology is the principle of involvement as a condition in philosophizing. The figure of a philosopher is considered in retrospective and perspective using the Aristotelian category of entelechy as the methodological tool, and both the origins of G. Marcel’s philosophy and innovations introduced by him were identified. It is shown that Marcel became a transitional figure from non-classical philosophy to postmodernism, retaining, however, those features that make him especially relevant today, in the post-postmodern conditions.
