Bocharnikov Igor Valentinovich – PhD (Political Science), Professor, veteran of the Chief Operative Board of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, 3rd class full state adviser of the Russian Federation.
Graduated from the Kiev Suvorov Military School, Baku Higher General Command School, Faculty of Military Pedagogy of the Military and Political Academy (since 1992 – Armed Forces’ Academy of the Humanities), Postgraduate studies in Political Science and courses of the Military Academy of the General Staff for the leading and responsible service men in the federal executive defense and security bodies of the Russian Federation.
From August 1977 till July 2004 served in the Armed Forces, beginning as platoon commander of armory car drivers and reaching the position of Chief Expert of the Russian Defense Ministry Program in coordination with the legislative and executive bodies. From October 2004 till September 2012 was a civil servant in the Analysis Board of the Council of Federation Apparatus as adviser, councilor, and chief adviser of the department for national security and head of the department of parliamentary programs. From 2012 to 2014 worked as Deputy Rector for science at the Moscow State Institute of the Economics and the Humanities. From September till present – professor of the Department of Political Science, Information Analysis and Political Technologies of the Bauman Moscow State Technical University.
Member of the Society for Caucasian Studies. Since 2013 – head of the National Security Studies Centre.
Author of 5 monographs and more than 150 articles in the fields of Russian policy in the Caucasus region, national security, ethno-political processes, prevention of terrorism, separatism, corruption, illegal migration etc.
Member of editorial boards of 15 revised scientific journals.
