The paper introduces the results of comparing students’ expectations and reality in the ‘‘teacher — student’’ communication system. The study of communication relies on the methodology of Verstehen, the interpretive sociology of Max Weber, which states that above all, effective communication is a social action that takes into account the mutual expectations of the participants in communication. By the questionnaire method, we comparatively analyzed students’ expectations and teachers’ communication styles used in educational communication.
