The subject of the article is the main question of philosophy and methodological analysis of the main concepts of its solutions: objective idealism, subjective idealism, materialism and dualism. The content and methodological features of each of these concepts are described. The possibility and necessity of developing a new approach to solving the main issue of philosophy is shown. Its basis should be a level-based concept of objective reality and a constructivist concept of consciousness and cognitive activity.
