The paper describes the essence and dynamics of language communication as a socio-cultural value and a tool for achieving personal success, respect and social status in society. Empirical material is used to show a close connection of speech communication with cultural and ethical values. Within the framework of the philosophical approach, a characteristic of the contradiction between the instrumentality and the normativity of the process of speech communication is given.
