The paper proposes a version of understanding the effects of informatization in various areas of social interaction, describes a range of significant informatization phenomena, develops a conceptual model for describing the processes of penetration of information and communication technologies into social structures and practices. The accumulated empiric material in the field of modern mass media allows us to make a number of theoretical generalizations and provides the basis for some hypotheses about the emerging social and cultural trends in modern society, provoked by the influence of information and communication technologies (ICT). In particular, the simplification and standardization of communicative practices, political and marketing technologies of managing the attention of the subject, as well as the phenomenon of social infantilism of the current generation of users are analyzed.
