The article presents an overview of the discussions of the round table conference "Social movements and social actions under conditions of social inequality" held in Bauman Moscow State Technical University on September 16, 2016. The participants of the conference looked at the problem of social inequality from the different sides including gender differences at Russian High schools, unequal access to qualitative higher education, negative trends in the modern university education system, exacerbation of social inequality in industrial organizations and the participation of civil society in regional programs. The study pointed out the necessity of social actions and civil society development for social inequality elimination. At the same time the authors note that social movements and collective actions in the socially unequal society have been studied well neither in social philosophy nor in sociology.
