Competence approach in foreign language teaching put in practice in non-linguistic higher education institutions curriculum

The article deals with challenges of transition to competence paradigm in foreign language teaching. The author has described the criteria of competence-based approach and analysed application of these in the curriculum of non-linguistic institutions of higher education. The investigation highlighted the problems of compliance with the criteria described.
