Lexical approach to foreign language teaching in a technical university

The article considers the principles and essence of the lexical approach to foreign language teaching; they are based on the inextricably links between vocabulary and grammar. The expediency of teaching collocations in the context without special memorization of grammatical rules in a technical University is explained. Stages of working in classroom with authentic materials in a foreign language in order to form universal competencies among students of technical specialties are described.
